At CES this year, Sony Mobile introduced the Xperia and XA2 ultra mid-range Android smartphones with impressive cameras and decent hardware specifications. Even though Sony Mobile’s market share in the smartphone market continues to slide downwards, it isn’t ready to give up just yet. The company will soon be launching two new mid-range smartphones Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra. Ahead of its launch, we are bringing you exclusive 5K renders and a 360-degree video showing the design of the Xperia XA2, in association with renowned leakster Onleaks. The Xperia XA3 is expected to be the manufacturer’s first mid-range smartphone to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display.

Sony Xperia XA3: Design
The Xperia XA3 renders make it quite clear that Sony has managed to trim the top and bottom bezels on the smartphone significantly when compared to its predecessor. The smartphone will have a display size measuring roughly 5.9-inches diagonally. We expect the display to offer 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution with an 18:9 aspect ratio. In terms of physical dimensions, the Xperia XA3 will measure 155.7 x 68.3 x 8.4mm. However, the rear camera bump will have a slight bump. At its thickest point, i.e. the camera bump included, Xperia XA3 will be 8.9mm thick.

Sony Xperia XA3: Rumored Specifications
The Sony Xperia XA3 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE octa-core processor under the hood, a decent upgrade over the Snapdragon 630 chipset powering the Xperia XA2. In terms of memory, the smartphone is expected to include up to 6GB-RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, 4G VoLTE, and a USB Type-C port. On the software front, the Xperia XA3 will likely ship with the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. Rest of the smartphone’s key specifications, however, remain a mystery at this point.
As for the launch date, the Xperia XA3 could be made official alongside the Xperia XA3 Ultra sometime in the fourth quarter of the year. Alternatively, Sony might announce the duo at CES 2019 in January next year.
